Alternative Resourcing in the Legal Sector

Situation

OMC’s client wished to develop deeper project management skills amongst its lawyers in order to manage matters more effectively and efficiently, with a particular emphasis on improving costing, pricing and matter recoveries. Our client also recognised the role that LPM played in Winning More Work and wished to create an approach which consistently reinforced this message.
 

Solution

Working with our client’s Finance and L&D teams we devised an approach to “win the hearts and minds” of fee earners in order that the desired project management behaviours became the standard approach across the firm. To address “training fatigue” we designed a programme that provided lawyers with around 10 hours of LPM training over a month that addressed the core but broad elements of Best Practice LPM and provided a platform for further more specific individual development.
